How Yoga came to the World

Dernière mise à jour : 20 mars 2020

“It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exiting, in movement there is life, and in change there is power.” (Alan Cohen)

Yoga came to the world through Lord Shiva, Adi Yogi, the first Yogi. The legend says that when Lord Shiva taught it to his consort Parvati, the snake (Vasuki) around His neck heard it, and from him emerged Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. Matsyendranath learnt it while Lord Shiva was teaching it, and so is considered to be the one who brought Hatha Yoga into the world. Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras - collection of 196 Indian sutras (aphorisms) on the theory and practice of yoga, synthesized and organized knowledge about yoga from older traditions. It's considered one of the foundational yoga texts.

Embrace the yoga and change your life...or at least give it a try, you always can stop but that rarely happens, because it is all we need to live simply and happy. If that's what you are looking for, yoga might be the way for you. Yoga not just as an asana practice but as a way of life.

There is something magical where the ocean meets the pure solid rock and shapes it with patience and persistence, the same magic happens to us when we embrace the yoga way.

Enjoy and leave the magic happens !
